From [info]fluffboll (and indirectly [info]wolfmoonie):

You Are a Seeker Soul

You are on a quest for knowledge and life challenges.
You love to be curious and ask a ton of questions.
Since you know so much, you make for an interesting conversationalist.
Mentally alert, you can outwit almost anyone (and have fun doing it!).

Very introspective, you can be silently critical of others.
And your quiet nature makes it difficult for people to get to know you.
You see yourself as a philosopher, and you take everything philosophically.
Your main talent is expressing and communicating ideas.

Souls you are most compatible with: Hunter Soul and Visionary Soul

Stolen from [info]wolfmoonie:

Name a CD you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
This isn't clear cut, as I haven't seen most of my friends' CD collections, but Mark II, Limited Edition by Epsilon Minus might do the trick.

Name a book you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
This one is the easiest. I'm fairly sure that none of my friends have Adultdata - The Handbook of Adult Anthropometric and Strength Measurements, because why on Earth would they? (It's a publication from the British Department of Trade and Industry.)

But the above choice is more of a binder than a book, so my backup is Purely Functional Data Structures. Not the first choice of literature for any of my friends.

Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
I don't have more than a couple of DVD boxes, and I'm fairly certain that [info]khrister has them...

Name a place that you have visited that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
I hope for their own sake that none of them have been in Östmark, because it's one of the more boring places on this planet. (Note how google don't even have a map of the road network up there...) It is, however, a prime resort for mosquitos. (Mmmmm, hydro plants!)

Name a piece of technology or any sort of tool you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
I might go for low-tech here and guess on an old-fashioned persimmon driver. (It's a golf club, from the grand old days when the woods actually were made of wood.)

The end of an era [Aug. 10th, 2005|05:24 am]
In a few short hours a major era in my life will come to an end. Finally, after more than seven years of filling up my basement storeroom, the ugly sofa left by the previous tenant will no longer remain in the building. (Okay, I admit I snuck it into an unused storeroom a month or so ago, but I didn't feel at ease with leaving it there - after all, it had been visible in my storeroom for all other tenants to see for all this time. But now it will go!)

Die, sofa! Die!

Frequent updates... [Jun. 27th, 2005|03:41 am]
...drives visitors to your blog. Or so they say.

When I think about it, blogging is so not me - and that's not only due to poor typing speed (for a nerd). Mostly, it's because whenever I sit down to write stuff it always ends up with a blank screen. Last year, I thought about putting up a self hosted blog on my web page, but that still hasn't been even remotely close to happening. Web pages tend to be the same thing - I might put them up at gunpoint, but that's pushing it.

The other marvelous revelation of the day is that all hardware suck, without exception. The latest champion of this humongous domain of utter suckiness is my ADSL modem. Currently it locks up about once a day, requiring a reboot. And, of course, the poor thing has been crippled by the ISP, so I can't even connect to it and force a reset. No siree, only the big power button in the sky is good enough for this critter.

As if that wasn't fun enough, I still have to battle the wlan setup. Fortunately, I have had some progress in the last few days, so my linux box can now authenticate clients (doesn't everybody run EAP-TLS at home? weird...) Unfortunately, it won't do anything else except that. But I already have grand plans on how to extend the wifi network to the lawn on the back of the house (surprisingly quiet spot for being next to a big road). Did I mention the thick concrete walls that make weaker cell phones cry?

Hmm, why do I write this in English, anyway? I don't have any non-Swedes reading this - at least not that I know of? (And how can the livejournal spelling system not know the word "blog"? Mindboggling.)

Test - even worse personality [Jul. 9th, 2004|05:01 am]
[Tags|]

(Stolen from [info]krfsm (or gruesome, as the spellcheck suggests))

I'm not sure if this test is supposed to freak me out, but check this out:

Wackiness: 38/100
Rationality: 76/100
Constructiveness: 66/100
Leadership: 26/100

You are an SRCF--Sober Rational Constructive Follower. This makes you a White House staffer. You are a tremendous asset to any employer, cool under pressure, productive, and a great communicator. You feel the need to right wrongs, take up slack, mediate disputes and keep the peace. This comes from a secret fear that business can't go on without you--or worse, that it can.

If you have a weakness, it is your inability to say "no." While your peers respect you, they find it difficult to resist taking advantage of your positive attitude and eagerness to take on work. You depend on a good manager to keep you from sinking under the weight and burning out.

Many things I can stand, but "White House staffer" is a tough one to digest... (Although perhaps it's not so far-fetched as I would like it to be.)

Thunderstorms... [Jul. 9th, 2004|04:56 am]
Weird shit. It's five am, and there seems to be thunder rolling in. Got to love the weather in this town... Not that I mind much, as long as the power grid stays up. (I have a UPS, but I can't have it connected right now. *grr*)

The usual trouble... [Jul. 9th, 2004|04:24 am]
[Current Mood |crankycranky]

I ended up dwelling far too long on the same problem as with all other community registrations - finding a decent name. That's what you get for using short and simple nicks! Bah!

Perhaps I should have spent some more time selecting a theme for the journal, but I plan to use this account mainly for commenting friends journals, so there won't be much to read anyway. (Ok, there will be some pointless tests and shit every now and then, too.)

Edit: Man, this theme really is Ugly with a capital U. I really should find another one. There has to be some way to browse available themes without having to restyle the journal to see the effects - or there is a reason behind all those ugly journal pages out there...

Edit II: Swapped to the default theme. Blazingly ugly too, but in a different way. I get flashbacks from the IDC script days. Yuck!
